- Select a Request Number in Pending Recruitment status from the Request tab on the Dashboard.
- Select the Vacancy Number link in the Vacancy Created section.
- If applicable, you must remove the announcement from USAJOBS before the vacancy can be cancelled.
- Choose Cancelled from the Status drop-down list.
- Choose the Vacancy Cancel Reason from the drop-down list.
- Select Save.
- The confirmation message “Are you sure you want to change the Vacancy status?” displays.
- Select Yes.
Notes:
- A vacancy cannot be restored once it has been cancelled.
- Upon cancellation of a vacancy, or if the only request associated with a vacancy has been cancelled (thereby also cancelling the associated vacancy), all active reviews are automatically recalled, and a notification is sent to the review owner, follower(s) and reviewer(s) notifying them of the auto recall.
- All “Make and Return Selection” and “Return Review” tasks are moved into a Cancelled status.
